Position Description
Our Resident Services department is recruiting for a
Housing Specialist – Community Builder based at our affordable housing
community, Guardian Village, in Reedley. By leveraging strong relationships,
community connections, and shared resources, the Resident Services team
empowers residents in SHE’s multifamily affordable rental communities to take
charge of their lives and well-being. We work with community partners to
provide free resident services such as job training, health and medical
services, financial training, and housing stability support. The Resident
Services program is focused on creating lasting, positive change and building
vibrant, inclusive communities where all individuals can thrive.
As Housing Specialist - Community Builder, you will serve
as a direct contact for residents, offering friendly support,
facilitating community programming, leading the site’s Afterschool
program, and providing frequent opportunities for resident feedback that will
allow SHE to evolve and improve the Resident Services and Afterschool programs.
You will work with a broad team that includes the Resident Services
Coordinator, Apartment Site Manager, on-site residents, and various partners
and community-based organizations. The Housing Specialist Community Builder is
assigned to a specific property within SHE’s multi-family portfolio. Individual
positions may have specific areas of focus.
Responsibilities
- Perform outreach and
engagement services in the community at SHE’s housing projects.
- Actively work through
program implementation and data collection of related to the Self-Help
Enterprises’ Health Action Plan for Guardian Village.
- Meet with participants
and service providers to connect necessary services to residents.
- Work with various staff
and team members to create reports, facilitate tracking spreadsheets,
document filing, and record keeping.
- Capture measurable
outcomes of services related to resident health and wellness.
- Engage with farm worker
populations and relative partner agencies.
- Implement a resident
services plan for the project site.
- Promote housing
stability and connect residents to wrap-around supportive
services.
- Facilitate resident
meetings and surveys to understand the resident culture and desired site
services.
- Conduct outreach in
communities regarding high-hazard risks.
- Maintain accurate
outreach counts and documentation.
- Work with local
communities to apply disaster resiliency and preparedness techniques and
practices.
- Plan, promote, and lead the site's
Afterschool program and youth education programs (approximately 10-15
hours per week).
- Assist in marketing and
education materials design.
- Prepare reports and
other written assignments as requested.
- Work with federal,
state, county, regional, non-profit, and other groups.
- Performs other duties as
required by supervisor.

located in Reedley, CA

Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.76 to $39.96 per HOUR
