Position Description
Are you a dynamic leader passionate about compliance, program improvement, and building strong teams? Self-Help Enterprises (SHE) is seeking a Manager to lead our Housing Rehabilitation team within the Strategic Partnerships Department. In this pivotal role, you’ll oversee operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and champion staff development to deliver meaningful housing solutions across the Central Valley.
As the Housing Rehabilitation Manager, you will implement programs and lead a staffing team that works with community residents in need of critical health and safety repairs to their owner-occupied You will also oversee the program intake and loan processing activities, and be responsible to manage work under a number of different funding programs and coordinate with the local, state and federal agencies to implement housing rehabilitation projects. As the manager, you must be able to work independently and as a team member, be detail-oriented, demonstrate strong program management and supervision skills, and work effectively with diverse community groups and public and private agency officials.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and support a high-performing team, including managers and staff, to achieve program goals.
- Oversee daily operations, training, and performance evaluation to maintain program quality and compliance.
- Interpret and implement complex local, state, and federal regulations, ensuring alignment with SHE policies.
- Manage budgets, monitor deliverables, and perform audits to ensure financial and program accountability.
- Implement and oversee marketing and outreach initiatives to support participant recruitment and increase program visibility.
- Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic planning, risk management, and program enhancements.
- Drive outreach and recruitment strategies to expand the program’s reach and impact.
- Foster a culture of excellence, transparency, and continuous improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven leadership experience, preferably in housing programs, compliance, or nonprofit operations.
- Strong understanding of federal and state grant regulations (e.g., CDBG, HOME, USDA, CalHome, etc.).
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities.
- Skilled in coaching, training, and mentoring teams to develop future leaders.
- Adept at data analysis, budgeting, reporting, and policy interpretation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to SHE’s mission and values, with a strong sense of integrity and accountability.
