Position Description

Project Technician-Intake/Emergency Services

Our Emergency Services department has an immediate opening for a Project Technician Intake. The Emergency Services Department is committed to providing individuals, families, and communities with resources to ensure safety and security during a disaster by engaging with, educating, and providing direct services to those affected by or at risk of natural disasters like floods, fires, earthquakes, droughts, and pandemics.

As a Project Technician-Intake, you will perform various administrative/clerical duties. You will also be responsible for incoming calls to the Emergency Services Department. Your primary focus will be providing basic program information and helping with the application process, including documentation collection, scheduling, and follow-up. Individual positions will have specific areas of focus in support of particular SHE-Emergency Services programs.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain accurate files and records.
  • Collect, review, and file documents.
  • Assist with tracking down needed information to expedite services to participants.
  • Deliver information or needed items to field staff and/or other agencies as directed.
  • Schedule appointments
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing with participants, SHE staff, vendors, and contractors regarding program enrollment and participant issues.
  • Assist with emergency water deliveries.
  • Communicate with participants, SHE staff, vendors, and contractors with minimal supervision.
  • May involve processing revised estimates regarding materials, pricing, and change orders.
  • Assist in training new intake staff.
  • Troubleshoot complex participant and vendor/contractor issues.
  • Assist with long-term file monitoring.
  • Perform other duties as required by supervisor.

Must Haves

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university, or one to two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or SHE employees.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Strong Computer Skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Teams, Adobe Acrobat, etc.)
  • Strong Communication Skills.
  • Willingness to travel throughout SHE's service area.
  • Willingness to work flexible and, at times, long hours, including occasional nights and weekends.

Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.60 to $29.82 per HOUR
